About this subspecialty
Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, a subspecialty within Women's Health, diagnoses, treats and manages pelvic floor dysfunction in patients (13 years and older) of all genders, including bowel and bladder dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, chronic pelvic pain, sexual pain, postpartum recovery, vulvar disorders and vulvodynia/vestibulitis.
Our team provides personalized nonsurgical treatments, including specialized pelvic floor exercises, biofeedback, manual therapy, lifestyle guidance and other interventions designed to improve muscle coordination, strength and function. Whether you are recovering postpartum, managing pelvic pain, or addressing urinary or fecal incontinence, we are dedicated to helping you restore control, reduce discomfort and improve your overall quality of life.
Our treatment approach
At UT Medicine, we take an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to your care. This means you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines caring for you in one place — avoiding the need to schedule multiple appointments with providers at locations all over the city.
UT Medicine is anchored by Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, where we collaborate with colleagues to apply leading-edge research, diagnostic and treatment techniques to the diagnosis and treatment of your condition. Advanced imaging and lab testing are also available on-site if needed.
